      Butternut Squash

      March 16th, 2008 | by amanda | General

I know no one really cares, but I just wanted to exclaim to the world that I love making Butternut Squash for Annabelle. Or any squash, for that matter. It is so easy! Cut in half, bake for two hours, and scoop it out. You don’t have to steam or puree. It’s like nature’s baby food. Bananas are awesome too. Love it.

We had a good weekend. Friday night we played Scrabble into the night with Jennifer and Jacob. Daniel convinced everyone that “innerds” and “vinneal” were words. Much to the chagrin of Jacob, Jennifer kicked our butts both rounds. Congratulations, Jen!

Saturday I attempted to finish my Italy scrapbook at my mom-in-law’s house with Dee and the girls. We all had fun chasing Annabelle around the house. Then we bar-b-qued. Today, was church, parenting class, and the best nap ever. That’s about it.

That is what is going on in our very interesting lives. Ha! I hope everyone else had a good weekend!

        According to Dictionary.com:

        innards:
–noun (used with a plural verb)
        1. the internal parts of the body; entrails or viscera.
        2. the internal mechanism, parts, structure, etc., of something; the interior of something: an engine’s innards.

        vineal:
        –adjective
        1. of or pertaining to grapes or grapevines.
        2. of or pertaining to wine or winemaking.

        So, I’m not totally a liar - I just can’t spell!

Every time I see butternut squash, I think of the Friends ep when Joey laughs like a dork about Ross calling it “squutter-nut bosh”. :)

Next, time we’ll play using dictionary.com to give everyone a better chance (but the words still need to be spelled correctly) :P

Also, we’ll play based on the REAL Scrabble rules (instead of the Tijerina rules). :)

So…I heard that you are still making up words?!
