      Thursday Night Ramblings

      May 15th, 2008 | by amanda | General

I mentioned before that I get to be J.Lo for the day and help my friend’s daughter’s wedding. I also signed up to design the programs and the directions sheet to the reception, because they wanted something simple that they could print themselves. (Her husband works for Xerox.) In addition I also spent a few hours this week making an 11-minute slideshow in iMovie. Do you know how hard it is to pick out songs? For real. I was digging through iTunes last night. They are pretty traditional folks. I ended up using “My Girl,” “Sisters” (from White Christmas), “L-O-V-E” (Wayne Newton version), “I Can’t Smile Without You” by Barry Manilow, “Beautiful Day” by U2, and “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer.

So the programs, directions sheet, and movie DVD are all done on my end! yay!

I went to the reception place (the Koehler house) and met with Karen. She passed off all the decorations to me and now they are in my dining room. We also went over where everything was going to be placed and got the numbers to all the vendors. It was super fun. I was all “You are going to need more space for the presents.” and “Yes, I do think the cake should go on the buffet.” Love it!

Today McKenna and I filmed the first episode of The Mom Crowd Show! yay! We have filmed once before, but the lighting was terrible and neither of us was relaxed. Now McKenna is on a break from school and we had a sitter watch the kiddos upstairs while we filmed. Also, Daniel made a 3-point light kit with some cheap shop lights from Lowe’s. McKenna’s living room was a maze of wires. I think it turned out well. We’ll see. We are now in “post-production.” :)

Looking forward to the weekend. I have two friends on the schedule tomorrow and then the wedding on Saturday. Sunday I will be recovering!
