I totally missed last week’s PrompTuesday from San Diego Momma. But I am back this week! Here is today’s prompt:
Write something spooky. It can be a made-up story, something that happened to you, dialogue, an urban legend re-told, anything. Experiment with tone, mood and atmosphere to create a sense of the scary. I’m not thinking gory here, but rather something less overt, more subtle; a story, description, poem, tidbit that uses description to convey a feeling of foreboding and spookiness.
My entry:
Late one night a young college girl is driving alone in her red Toyota Corolla. She is driving home to her parent’s house three hours from her dorm room. Tired from the day she turns up the radio to give her energy to keep her eyes open. She bobs her head to the beat and sings along to the song. Then that upbeat song fades and slow and unusual instrumental starts playing. The music is lulling her asleep. She reaches for the dial and a singer starts singing. She screams in terror! She knows she can’t get out of the grips of the song putting her asleep and crashing her car. It is too late! David Archuletta is playing on her radio!

Hah! What a great backhanded commentary on David A. I think JD and I voted like 30 times for David C. last night. I can’t believe what dorks we are. Sadly, despite our efforts, I think Archie’s gonna win
