We haven’t blogged in over a week, and it’s not for lack of desire, just lack of energy. Amanda’s doing just o.k.: not great, and not terrible. She does good to watch Ace while I work and keep her food from making an encore appearance. I get to pick up the slack. It’s been a challenging week, but we’re both doing what we’re designed for - making a baby and slack pickuping.
So, this afternoon I am sitting in my office which overlooks our front lawn. I notice the truck/trailer of the company that does my neighbor’s lawn comes by and about a half hour later hear the sound of a blower. about five inches right of my monitor I have the vantage of my driveway, and I see the lawn guy blowing the clippings he’s just created onto and over my driveway. The clippings ended up in my lawn and at the base of my garage door.
I proceeded to go downstairs and ask Amanda if this was confrontation worthy. I explained to her that it was an ongoing thing where byproducts of lawn care seem to find their way into my lawn directly after a visitation by said company. She, having bigger things on her mind, gave me the old “do what you want.”
I went outside and interrupted the lawn engineer’s blower session and after he removed his ear buds I asked him in a stern tone not to intentionally blow clippings into my yard. He responded with a sigh, a wave of his hand that translated to “whatever” and walked away.
Now, I understand I may not do the most pristine job of lawn mowing and on occasion some clippings go into my neighbors yard, but I intentionally do not blow clippings outside my yard because I consider it Rude.
Please let me know - Did I overreact by confronting the guy?

No not at all. That is disrespectful and you should talk to your neighbor about the people he has hired. If it keeps happening I would call the company. Good luck.

That same thing used to happen to us when we lived on Forest Ridge. Dad confronted the guy as well and they stopped but once in a while we would come home and find the clippings on our side of the sidewalk again. Calling the company maybe a good idea but unfortunately he may be the owner.

No, you weren’t overreacting. And if he is the owner of the company, like commenter #2 offered as a possibility, then he absolutely SHOULD hear you out - you have word-of-mouth power as a potential customer.

At least your neighbor mows their lawn. My leftside neighbor is awesome and has a beautiful lawn. My rightside neightbor doesn’t do anything…seriously, she doesn’t do anything, except hire a guy to come once every year or 3 to clear out her jungle.
Anyway, I probably wouldn’t talk to the neighbor, but I would send a phone call over to the company HQ and give them some negative feedback. If it continue’s I’d give feedback to the BBB and Angie’s List.

Call the troubleshooters. Bryan Collister loves that kind of stuff. Then you can be one of those guys on the news that is the “target of a special investigation.” You would be known far and wide as the one who brings justice. You’d be just like Jesus in that way.
