Celebrating Fiesta!

We celebrated Fiesta! this past Saturday with Daniel’s parents and our nieces, Aubrey and Kaela. We parked at the downtown library and then headed over the Southwest School of Arts for the Fiesta Arts Fair. We had a blast. There were many art crafts for the kids in the Art Garden. It was also really cool to see the booths with local artists.

Afterwards, we walked around downtown to see The Alamo. Also, Roman LOVES waterfalls, so I knew he’d love the water feature at the Hyatt. We rode a trolley back to our car and ate at the new food truck park downtown, Alamo Eat Street Bar. It was all delicious! We wore the kids out.

Here are some highlights:

Kaela, Roman, Annabelle, and Aubrey

The Southwest School of Arts is so pretty. The music was great too.

Roman loved getting a Thomas the Train on his face.

Annabelle getting a butterfly on her face.

Print making. They painted a rectangle of glass, then stamped it on to paper.

Annabelle all decked out in her Fiesta! gear.

Zander had a great time riding on Daddy's backpack.

Making necklaces. Roman had a turtle and boy colors on his. It looks really good on him.

We all enjoyed our paletas! Daniel and Felicia got some spicy, roasted corn. Hooray for Fiesta food!

Somebody is bound to get cut off if you hand your phone to a stranger to take a pic.

Because every family in Texas needs to have this photo.

This was Roman's favorite part of the day. He will even tell you that he crossed two bridges.

Riding the trolley back to the library. The girls had a blast.

Zander would cry if he wasn't holding on to a pole just like his daddy.

We ate dinner at Alamo Eat Street Bar, but didn’t take any photos. I got to try a few food trucks that I have been dying to try like Attaboy Burgers, The Rolling Pig, and Takoriya. Roman got some Funky Mac and Cheese from the Tapa Tapa Truck. I loved my veggie sandwich from Wheelie Gourmet. I wish my stomach and wallet had been bigger to try more food. I guess we’ll just have to go back.

Our view of the backseat as we drove home. :)
