Job 7:11 My New Favorite Verse
I came across this Bible verse today. It’s my new favorite verse.
Job 7:11 (New American Standard Bible)
11 “Therefore I will not restrain my mouth;
I will speak in the anguish of my spirit,
I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.”
I always felt like you could say anything to God, but I have never come across a verse the explicitly talked about that. I think it is so healthy just to lay out all your garbage when you are praying. I’d rather lay all that I am thinking before God rather than my husband or a friend. He can actually do something about whatever it is I am going through. God isn’t offended when we pray what we are really feeling and thinking. I think He wants us to!

There’s no “like” option on blogs yet, so I will just say, “I like this.”
Is that the nice way of saying don’t complain to me? Or take your dirty laundry to God, not me? Nice! =)
If what Candace said is true, you’ll wanna throw away that letter I just sent.
What Candace said isn’t true.
I just think some folks are afraid to say what they really think to God, because they feel that they need to be formal and very pious. Or sometimes we run to other people without ever going to God at all. I am happy to listen and hear what people are going through! I also learned in Job I that I need to be careful about what I say when someone is going through a rough time. Job’s friends meant well, but their advice was whack and not comforting.
