My Birthday!
I had a great day yesterday. I had an Austin theme for my birthday. We hit the road and drove straight to Ikea. We really love the randomness of Ikea. We ending up buying a much needed dresser for Ace’s clothes, new art and frame for living room, plastic bins, dish drying rack, magazine rack for our bathroom, plastic cable cover, my favorite sparkling pear juice, and Save the Day batteries! The batteries in my antiquated camera had just died.
After working up an appetite we headed straight for the Original Kerbey Lane Cafe. They are known for their pancakes and it was around lunch time. So we ordered a side salad, amazing Spinach queso, pumpkins pancakes, and strawberry filled pancakes. Annabelle indulged in a little dry pancake of her own too.
We then walked off our lunch in the SoCo district visiting all the little shops. Daniel got a shirt at the very cool Blackmail store. After a 75% discount the shirt was $23 dollars. crazy.
On our way back we had a little time for me to shop for some jeans at the outlets in San Marcos. First I went to American Eagle for the first time in my life. I really wanted a certain type of jeans. To my amazement I fit in a size 6 pair of jeans! I must keep going to that pilates class that kicked my butt and punched me in the stomach. Then I went next door to Banana Republic and I found the exact pair I was looking for! Not only that, they were on sale, and..and..the size 4 actually fit the best!! Seriously one of the biggest highlights of my day. Nine months after giving birth I fit in size four jeans. This can only be an act of God. I actually thanked Him this morning in my quiet time.
After San Marcos we picked up my niece, Samantha, for babysitting duty. We laid Ace down to bed and headed out to Chuy’s to meet up with a few friends to help celebrate. I really had a great time with everyone. ManBearPig!
Hooray for a fun day! Thanks to everyone who wished me happy birthday. I really felt celebrated as I turned two years away from thirty.
That’s so funny… I just went to IKEA in Israel today! What a trip; it was mostly a recon mission, but we did buy a few knick-knacks. I’ve decided Duane needs their Hawaiian Print couch for his office area
I am cracking up that there is an IKEA in Israel. I think I can see the big blue building on the map in my Bible!!
If I get to go it’ll be a day trip to Atlanta, our nearest store.
I love Austin and Kerbey Lane Cafe, memories of college.

I am going to make Chris take me to Austin and do the exact same thing and go to the exact same stores. They sound so cool…..
@Dawn, that is hilarious about seeing Ikea in your Bible.
@Lynn, Daniel and I love taking day trips from San Antonio. I think we have gone almost every direction from San Antonio at least once. We are happy to give you some suggestions.
