New Phones!

Both Amanda and I were sportin’ three year old flip phones (mine was down to the last hinge) so since our contract with Sprint is expiring soon we decided to try out another carrier and get a pair of new phones.

After some online research and a few store visits we decided on T-Mobile and the Samsung t809. To say we’re excited about this phone would be an understatement! Since the phone plays mp3′s and videos (3gp format) we stayed up past 2 a.m. last night editing and encoding media to use as ringers and to just have on the phone for ‘cool’ effect. And don’t worry J.D. – we can unlock it.

The video playback is by far the best feature in my book – now I can setup a script to automatically download and encode Diggnation then put it on the external MicroSD so I can watch while riding the bus. No more is there a dire need for a video iPod, although the iPod is by far the best commuter video solution for convenience and capacity. But that will have to wait until we are finished with Baby Step Two!
