Thanksgiving Food in Less than 24 Hours!

I am excited about Thanksgiving tomorrow! I am also excited that Daniel is taking 3 whole days off with no working! Needless to say, I have already started writing out his Honey Do list. :)

Barb posted this meme about Thanksgiving Food and I couldn’t resist. So here it goes…

1. Which do you like better: Cooking at your house, or going elsewhere?
Definitely going to someone’s house. I do cook one of the sides and Daniel bakes the pies.

2. Do you buy a fresh or frozen bird? I have never cooked one myself, but my family does buy it frozen.

3. What kind of stuffing? I grew up on Stove Top, but I am in love with Daniel’s mom stuffing. It was her mom’s recipe. She makes an ungodly amount. I think each family is going home with their own pan this year.

4. Sweet potato or pumpkin pie?
Pumpkin Pie for sure!! I have already eaten on 2 different ones this year. I do love me some sweet potato casserole.

5. Do you believe that turkey leftovers are a curse, or the point of the whole thing?
I love leftovers!! But I don’t remake it into weird things like Turkey Stromboli or Turkey Breakfast Casserole. I do like Turkey sandwiches afterwards.

6. Which side dish would provoke a riot if you left it off the menu? Daniel’s mom’s stuffing. and the turkey definitely.

7. Do you save the carcass to make soup or stock? um. no.

8. What do you wish you had that would make preparing Thanksgiving dinner easier? Nothing. I only have to do one side and some pies. Easy enough!

9. Do you get up at the crack of dawn to have dinner ready in the early afternoon, or do you eat at your normal dinner hour? We are lunch time turkey eaters. Why wait all day?? And who wants to wake up at the crack of dawn?

10. If you go to somebody else’s house, what’s your favorite dish to bring? I usually bring my fresh green beans boiled in either pepper bacon or maple bacon like this year.

11. What do you wish one of your guests wouldn’t bring to your house? Dogs, unless they bring a kennel or keep them in the backyard. We are just not dog people.

12. Does your usual mix of guests result in drama, or is it a group you’re happy to see? There is no drama. We hang out and in the evening the men usually go see a manly movie while the ladies stay home with the kids and watch a chick flick.

13. What’s your absolute favorite thing on the menu? Eating turkey and stuffing smothered in gravy.

14. What are you thankful for this year? There is so much to be thankful for this year. I am SUPER thankful for my husband. Annabelle is doing great. Daniel started his own web development company and works from home now. I love my job as a mom so much that we are pregnant with our second. I am also thankful that in two weeks, I will only have 3 months left of being pregnant! I am thankful that my mom website has grown and is doing great. I am thankful that Daniel’s company is doing well and we are still in our house. I also love our house. I love our church and our community of friends. There is so much more to be thankful for!
